Release of Property

If your property is being held as Evidence, you must contact the Court who holds jurisdiction in your case.  Portions of the City of Sapulpa are in both Creek County and Tulsa County.  Also, dependent upon Tribal membership of persons involved your case may fall under the jurisdiction of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.  The City of Sapulpa also has its own Municipal Court.

City of Sapulpa:
Visit the City of Sapulpa City Hall. Complete a Request for Return of Property form. They will investigate and approve or decline the disclaimer.  When approved you will be provided with paperwork to present to the Property Custodian at the Sapulpa Police Department.

Creek County:
Visit the Creek County District Attorney’s Office located on the 3rd Floor of the Creek County Courthouse.  Complete a Request for Return of Property form. They will investigate and approve or decline the disclaimer.  When approved you will be provided with paperwork to present to the Property Custodian at the Sapulpa Police Department.

Tulsa County:
Visit the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office located on the 9th Floor of the Tulsa County Courthouse OR Email the DA’s office at kthompson@tulsacounty.org .  Request a ‘Disclaimer’ – You will need defendants name & police report number.  The completed form must be emailed back to Kendall or left at the DA’s office.  They will investigate and approve or decline the disclaimer. When approved the disclaimer will be emailed directly to the Sapulpa Police Department.  (If there is no court case you will be redirected to the investigating officer.) The Sapulpa Police Property Room and the investigating officer will be notified of the approved disclaimer.

The Sapulpa Police Department Property Room is open to the public by appointment only and may be required to shut down without notice due to COVID or any other unforeseen circumstance.

NOTE:  In most circumstances, the case must be closed for evidence to be released. Check these online services OSCN or ODCR or Muscogee (Creek) Nation District Court for some case dispositions.

NOTE: It is difficult, if not impossible, to return stolen property to the rightful owner without a serial number or unique identifying number.  Use the link to access a form, Personal Property Record, to record your valuable possessions, print the form and store it somewhere safe. Do not send the form to the Sapulpa Police Department.
